In Brooklyn, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in New York, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 12β7 pm. Note that it does not open on Wednesday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Brooklyn is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Brooklyn is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Alison is an incredibly thoughtful shop owner. She assisted me with my plant decision making based on light in my home and the pot sizes i had, and was generous with sharing care tips for my chosen houseplants! She went above and beyond and even picked up a plant for me that I'd been searching for and couldn't find in the neighborhood. Get your plants at this neighborhood gem!

Iβm only sad that I hadnβt discovered Perennials earlier! Alison was so friendly and knowledgeable - she was happy to give me a tour of her collection and help me choose the best plant to add to my home. Very approachable and genuinely free wheeling with her plant knowledge, including fun anecdotes and pointing me towards plants I may have missed that she thought I would like. She had a surprising number of rare and funky options, too. You could tell how much she loves her plants and how well cared for they are. Canβt wait to come back.

Shop owner is so sweet and nice. She helped me choose new plants for my home and repotted them. She takes such care of her customers and plantsβand it shows. The pricing is fair and there is so much variety. Very knowledgeable and welcoming. Will definitely come back!

Perennials is an absolute gem in Williamsburg! I stopped in after hearing it was a great spot to find a desk plant, and I couldnβt have been more impressed. The shop itself is quaint and intimate, yet filled with an incredible variety of plants and flowersβso much beauty tucked into a small space. Allison, the owner, was so welcoming and patient, taking the time to help me choose the perfect plant. Her knowledge and warmth made the experience even better. I left with exactly what I was looking for and already canβt wait to return for more plants to brighten up my home. Highly recommend Perennials to anyone looking for quality plants and a personal touch!

Perennials is hands down one of the best plant shops in Brooklyn! The range of plants in the store is surprisingly extensiveβthere's a lot to choose from, including plants you'd expect to see as well as some rare beauties. There are also adorable pots and accessories sprinkled throughout the store. Plus, you can tell Alison (the store's owner) is really thoughtful about what she carriesβa lot of the pottery she showed me was imported from fair trade women's cooperatives. Best of all, the prices were amazing. You'll definitely walk away feeling like you're getting a great deal. Plus, Alison really took the time to make sure I felt confident taking care of my newly acquired plant friends. I don't know of any other local plant shops where you get a great selection, amazing prices, thoughtfully sourced goods, and a lovely owner who immediately feels like an old friend. If you're near Greenpoint or Williamsburg, you should definitely stop by this charming plant shop ASAP! Even if you're farther afield, it's totally worth the trip.
